My dear Sir,
If my memory serves me correctly the staircase was in an old house near Blois. By accident I went with it & although it's a drawing, it looked well in nature it is a poor subject. I think its donor has been a convent but the home I never knew.
I am & shall be much engaged this week but if possible will contrive to call either on tomorrow or Saturday.
