Pearce was born in Peoria, Illinois, in 1969. As a child, about three, she remembers trying to draw Mickey Mouse and Goofy on her Walt Disney light up table. Pearce studied at The Savannah College of Art and Design graduating with honors. Her course of study was illustration. In 2007, upon seeing DaVinci's portrait of Ginevra de' Benci, she declared, "I want to paint like that!" Since, she has been dedicated to the 16th century techniques of the masters.
Pearce's paintings can be described as expressive realism. They are not just portraits of people, but of emotions, behaviors and feelings. She combines nature and and human form to create wild fantasy inspired paintings. They provide the allegory, illustrating the shared sameness of all life, as well as their differences. She likes to connect and separate the humans, the nature, and the human nature. The toggling and juxtaposition of these themes are the current of her thought. Her subjects are inspired from turn of the century photos, which she finds at flea markets and garage sales. Dead long ago, these individuals are used to create paintings with contemporary creative subjectmater that remind us of life.
In addition to numerous shows in central Illinois region, her work has appeared in Chicago and internationally. She currently is represented by Argazzi Art in Lakeville, Connecticut.
